Okay, so here's the scoop, in detail, from me, about what's going down right now.
Yesterday, before the storm, Jessica, Jourdan and I left our homes to go to Raleigh, NC. We left for many different reasons. Jourdan had been through hurricanes before and wanted to get herself and her daughter out of the path of the storm. Jessie's husband was in Tennessee and she was alone this weekend, like myself. So together, the three of us marine wives left Havelock and went west.
The hotel is kinda shitty, but it's better than being home and dealing with Irene. She went through Havelock this morning as a Cat 1 and did a lot of damage to the beach area. Most of the damage that was done around our houses was caused by flooding, or debris that was being thrown around by the wind.
Jourdan and I went to the mall today and it was awesome. I love being in the city. I miss it so much. I didn't have any money, but who really goes to the mall with money? lol. Whatever, we got extremely lost in Raleigh, but we did eventually find our way back to the hotel. I miss Jordan. I really do. I wish so much that he were here to help me through this. I hate being independent like this. I hate having to make serious decisions like this.
We're going to try to head home tomorrow morning. Hopefully, the Trent River bridge will be open again by the time that we get there. I've heard that there's still no power in the Havelock area. I'll write more later. I hope everything works out.
