Mormons

So I got a knock at the door at around 8 in the evening and found that it was the missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter-day-Saints. Now, people close their doors on these guys all the time and I feel really bad for them, so I began to talk to them about Jesus and about their religion and stuff and we actually had a really decent conversation. They asked me where I went to church and I told them that I didn't go to a church. I was a Muslim.

(insert crickets chirping here)

You know it is possible for a Muslim to respect Jesus Christ. In fact, Jesus Christ, peace be upon him, is an extremely important prophet in the Qu'ran. I don't know why that surprises people so much. I still love Jesus. Why wouldn't I? Anyway, these lovely gentlemen, Elder Thompson and Elder Mcgill or something were quite shocked at my knowledge and understanding about the relationship between a Christian and Jesus Christ. I should hope that I would have decent knowledge considering I was a Christian for 19 years. They wanted me to be open to, oh what was the word they used, expanding my horizons or something to that nature, and scheduled an actual appt. with me on Saturday.

I readily agreed to this appt, knowing nothing about Mormons and what they believe. I am truly interested in learning. I'm sure that they have every intention of converting me, but I am interested in what they have to say.
