Packages

I just got another package put together for Jordan. I very easily spend over $100 on each of these packages, including the shipping fee, but that's not really a chunk of it. It's funny how when he's home, he throws a box of fruit rollups into the cart at the grocery store, but I put them back on the shelf and tell him no. While he's deployed, I throw three boxes into the package. He's so spoiled while he's deployed, I ask him what he wants and he gets every item on the list and more. Whatever I can fit in the box, whatever he "might" want or need. I remember last year when I sent my first care package to him, I didn't know how to go about packing it, what to pack, what form to fill out, how much it cost, and now I'm like a pro at filling it out, packing it up depending on what's in it. To save room, I'm stuffing packets of skittles into rolled up socks, wrapping deodorant and toothbrushes into t-shirts. It's funny how natural it feels now, to go into the garage and grab a box and pack up a piece of home for my husband to have and enjoy. I enjoy picturing his expression when he opens it and sees his favorite snacks or candy, and pictures of home, always a letter from me, some motorcycle magazines to fawn over. I like the thought that I'm doing something to make him happy. So that is definitely worth the money I spend on the packages.
