4 years ago today, my husband joined the United States Marine Corps. And in becoming a part of this beloved Corps, he subsequently enlisted me into the sisterhood of Marine wives. This is where I have found my closest friends and built strong relationships. This is where I find the motivation and draw the strength that I need to go on.
Marine wives are just women, they are versions of civilian wives, but they hold a sense of pride, a sense of honor, and loyalty that comes with the brotherhood in which their husbands are bound. They are strong. They are brave. They are faithful and they are honorable. They are weary of the challenges the Marines present them with, but they face their trials with stoic endurance. They are knowing in the pain of separation, but greet a deployment with fierce confrontation. They understand between what is asked of them and what is required of them and they make their sacrifices willingly. Their love for their marines and the bonds of their fellow wives carries them through exhaustion and fatigue.
Today marks 4 years. A proud, honorable, 4 years.
Semper Fi, to my marine, my love, my husband. .
