- Finish the office. I want to frame all of Jordans awards and some photos I have of his career in the marines. I want to find a suitable desk where I can actually work at. I would like a computer. I want to put some shelves in the closet and store some of my books in there so that they're out of the way. I don't like the way bookshelves look. They tend to clutter up a room in my opinion.
- Decorate the Spare Bedroom. Jordan and I actually want to use the spare bedroom as a spare bedroom, so we're not going to store things in it. I want to paint it a nice color, put some curtains or blinds in the window, and find a nice comforter set for the bed. I want to find some nice wall decorations too. There's really not that much that needs to be done with it.
- Lose weight. I want to lose some weight. I think this is every marine spouses goal for when they're husbands are gone. I tried to do this last year, but failed miserably. We'll see how much of an impact writing it down will make. I want to lose at least 10 lbs. I plan on doing this by going to the gym more often after work and eating a lot healthier. I want to exercise at least 10 minutes a day.
- Save some money. Last deployment destroyed our savings. I will take full responsibility for that. This year is going to be different. We have a house payment and an extra car payment that will be coming out of our paychecks, so I need to budget wisely. I'm going to have to watch what I'm buying very carefully and buy things sparingly. I have plenty of time before Jordan comes home, so I don't have to get everything all at once.
- Learn how to cook. I think this is self explainable. I'm not sure how it's going to work with the whole losing weight goal, but I would like to learn how to cook. Not just simple meals, like gourmet as well. I want to be able to hold my own in the kitchen. I'm tired of have Jordan cook for me all the time.
- Learn sign language. I would very much like to take a class on signing. The language fascinates me and It would be so awesome to learn it. Plus i would be able to talk to Natalie.
- Accept that I'm probably not going to be able to have children. I've sort of been in denial about this for a while. I think it's time I faced it. The sooner I accept it, the less painful it will be. If my calling in life does not include mothering, I want to be willing to accept that. Allah will give me children if it's in his plan.
I'm a young Marine wife. My trials, and struggles as I continue building my relationship with the Marine Corps. My pain and happiness that comes with my marriage. What I'm learning and how I'm learning it, mostly the hard way. :/

Deployment Goals
So I was sitting here thinking that I should write out goals for me to accomplish while Jordan is gone on this deployment (I know you're proud daddy). Last deployment I had goals, but I never wrote them down. Something about actually recording them sets them in a form of stone. Something you can at least look at when you don't know what to do next.

"Something about actually recording them sets them in a form of stone. Something you can at least look at when you don't know what to do next." I wonder where you heard that from?
ReplyDeletelol shut up.
ReplyDeletegood luck! :)
ReplyDeleteaw shucks! I love ya! I hope you accomplish all those goals during the next deployment. If you want someone to talk cooking with, I'd be happy to do that with you or Zach can give you tips/feedback (he watched the cooking network so much when we had cable). I'm still learning a bit about cooking from him now.
ReplyDeleteOne good way to lose more weight is by eating more vegetables and make sure you eat some fruits too. I check out dr oz show online sometimes online and he has useful tips on his website related to eating healthier and losing weight.
